Subframe, Stabilizer Bar, Coupling Rod and Diagonal Brace Overview, FWD
1 Clamp
• Replaced together with the rubber bushing and stabilizer bar.
• The rubber bushing and clamp must not be separated from the stabilizer bar.
2 Bolt
• 25 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
• Tighten evenly.
3 Bolt
• 40 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
• Must be tightened in the curb weight position. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing with Coil Spring, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.
4 Bolt
• 40 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
• Must be tightened in the curb weight position. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing with Coil Spring, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.
5 Coupling Rod
• The coupling rod must be removed together with the stabilizer bar.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Coupling Rod and Stabilizer Bar ] Coupling Rod and Stabilizer Bar.
6 Nut
• Always replace if removed.
7 Stabilizer Bar
• The rubber bushing and clamp must not be separated from the stabilizer bar.
• Stabilizer must be removed together with coupling rod.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Coupling Rod and Stabilizer Bar ] Coupling Rod and Stabilizer Bar.
8 Bolt
• 70 Nm + 180° turn
• Always replace if removed.
• Must be tightened in the curb weight position. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing with Coil Spring, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.
9 Securing Clip
10 Bolt
• 5 Nm
11 Nut
• Always replace if removed.
12 Upper Transverse Link
13 Bolt
• 115 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
• The bolts must not be loosened or tightened when the springs are installed. Release the coil springs using the spring tensioner before loosening or tightening.
14 Left Rear Level Control System Sensor (G76)
• Only sensors of the same version may be installed.
• Complete with components.
• The sensor lever points toward the outside.
• Replace in vehicle. Refer to => [ Level Control System Sensor ] Rear Suspension.
• Adjust the headlamp after loosening.
• If the sensor was removed and installed on a vehicle with electronically controlled damping or if the linkage was loosened, the control position must be reprogrammed. Refer to => [ Control Position, Programming using Vehicle Diagnostic Tester ] Testing and Inspection.
• If the control position was reprogrammed on vehicles with lane assist, the directional stabilization assistance control module (J759) must be recalibrated. Refer to => [ Lane Assist Calibration Procedure ] Lane Assist Calibration Procedure.
15 Bolt
• 9 Nm
16 Bolt
• 70 Nm + 180° turn
• Always replace if removed.
• Must be tightened in the curb weight position. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing with Coil Spring, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.
17 Lower Transverse Link
18 Nut
• Always replace if removed.
19 Bolt
• 70 Nm + 180° turn
• Always replace if removed.
• Must be tightened in the curb weight position. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing with Coil Spring, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.
20 Nut
• 95 Nm
• Always replace if removed.
• Must be tightened in the curb weight position. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing with Coil Spring, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension.

• There are versions made of aluminum and steel. For allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
• A mixed installation is not permitted.

26 Bolt
• 55 Nm
27 Bolt
• 115 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
• The bolts must not be loosened or tightened when the springs are installed. Release the coil springs using the spring tensioner before loosening or tightening.
28 Bolt
• Pre-tightening specification: 5 Nm
• Final tightening specification: 50 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
29 Clip
• Not installed on all vehicles.
30 Left Stone Deflector
• Not installed on all vehicles.
31 Right Stone Deflector
• Not installed on all vehicles.
32 Right Support
33 Front Bonded Rubber Bushing
• For the subframe mounting.
• Depending on the model, either a conventional or a hydraulic bonded rubber bushing is installed. For the correct allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
• Oil on the hydraulic bonded rubber bushing is a sign of wear.

• Always replace on both sides.
34 Subframe
• Subframe with attachments, removing and installing, refer to => [ Subframe with Attachments ] Subframe With Attachments.
35 Rear Bonded Rubber Bushing
• For the subframe mounting.
• Depending on the model, either a conventional or a hydraulic bonded rubber bushing is installed. For the correct allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
• Oil on the hydraulic bonded rubber bushing is a sign of wear.
