Seat Forward/Back Adjuster Release Cable
Removing
• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Pyrotechnic, Electrical and Mechanical Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Testing and Inspection.
• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
- Remove the front seat. Refer to => [ Standard Seat and Sport Seat, Manual ] Standard Seat and Sport Seat, Manual.
- Attach front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Installing Front Seat on Fixture for Seat Repair VAS 6136 ] Installing Front Seat on Fixture For Seat Repair VAS 6136.
- Open the cable tie or unclip the clip on the lower seat frame.
- Disengage the release cable bracket - 1 - from the seat forward/back adjustment - 2 -.
- Disengage the end of the release cable - arrow - at release cable retainer lever - 3 - of the seat forward/back adjuster.
- Disengage the release cable bracket - 2 - from the seat forward/back adjustment - 1 -.
- Disengage the release cable - 1 - that seat forward/back release cable mount - arrow A -.
- Disengage the ball-shaped end of the release cable - arrow B - at the seat forward/back adjuster groove.
- Remove the release cable.
Installation

• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• Make sure the connectors are installed all the way in and are secure.
Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.
- Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on.
• If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again. Refer to Vehicle diagnostic tester.
