Right Flange Shaft

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

• Puller (T10037)

• Socket and Extended Bit (T10107)

Removing

• Refer to => [ Repair Information ] 02EA Transmission.

• Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.

- Remove right drive axle.

- Remove the right drive axle heat shield - arrows - from bevel box.






• Different heat shields installed depending on the version.

- Place the (V.A.G 1782) under the transmission.






- Remove right flange shaft countersunk bolt with (T10107) by installing 2 bolts in flange and counter holding flange shaft with assembly lever.

- Remove flange shaft with (T10037).






Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Tightening Specifications

• Refer to => [ Flange Shafts, Shaft Seals Overview ] 02EA Transmission.

• Refer to => [ Heat Shield for Drive Axle on Bevel Box - Tightening Specifications ] 02EA Transmission.

• Replace flange shaft countersunk bolt.

- Remove the sealing ring - A - from the groove - arrow - and replace it.






- Carefully install the flange shaft while rotating it at the same time.

- Secure flange shaft with new countersunk bolt.

- Install the right drive axle.
