Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)
• Protective goggles

• Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.
• Observe notes for disposal regulations for oils, refer to => [ Transmission ] Transmission.
Test Conditions
• Move the vehicle onto a 4-column shop hoist or over a work pit so it is completely level.
• The engine is off.
Test Sequence
• Tightening specification, refer to => [ Oil Drain and Inspection Plug in Bevel Box Overview ] Oil Drain and Inspection Plug In Bevel Box Overview.
- Remove the noise insulation.
• Depending on the version, different noise insulation may be installed.
Always keep a safe distance away from the radiator fan whenever working on the cooling system. Fan can switch on by itself - risk of injury!
- Place the (V.A.G 1782) under the transmission.
Wear protective goggles.
Wear protective gloves.
- Remove oil filler hole plug - B -.
• Specified value: Oil level up to bottom edge of oil filler hole.
- Fill up oil for bevel box; part number, refer to the Parts Catalog.
- Replace and tighten the oil filler plug - B -.
