Clutch Release Bearing: Service and Repair






Clutch Slave Cylinder with Release Bearing

The clutch slave cylinder and release bearing are one unit and can only be replaced together.

Removing

- Remove transmission. Refer to => [ Transmission, Removing ] Transmission, Removing.

- Release securing clip - 2 - with a screwdriver and pull off bleeder - 4 - from slave cylinder - 1 -.






- Remove bolts - arrows -.






- Remove slave cylinder together with release bearing - A -.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:


Tighten the slave cylinder bolts in small steps. Otherwise, there is the danger that the mounting tabs - arrows - could break off.

- Tighten the clutch slave cylinder and release bearing - arrows -. Tightening specification - item 4 - => [ (Item 4) Bolt ] 02Q Transmission.

- Check the O-ring - 3 - for damage and replace if necessary.






- Press the bleeder - 4 - onto the connection on the clutch slave cylinder - 1 - until the clip - 2 - audibly engages.

- Pull on the bleeder to verify.

- Install transmission. Refer to => [ Transmission, Installing ] Transmission, Installing.

- Bleed the clutch system. Refer to => [ Clutch System, Bleeding ] Service and Repair.
