Hydraulic Hose: Service and Repair






Hose/Line Assembly or Plastic Hose

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose Clamps Up to 25 mm Dia. (3094)

Removing

- Press the release button - arrow - and remove the battery cover.







Observe procedures for disconnecting battery.

- With the ignition switched off, disconnect the battery Ground (GND) cable - arrow -.






- Remove battery.

Vehicles with an Air Filter Housing in Front of the Battery






- Remove the entire air filter housing.

Continued for All Vehicles

- Remove the battery carrier - arrows -.






While performing the following work, make sure that no brake fluid comes into contact with longitudinal member or with transmission. If this happens, these areas must be cleaned thoroughly.






- Clamp off the clutch master cylinder supply hose with a (3094).

Place a cloth underneath to catch any dripping brake fluid.

- To remove the clutch master cylinder, open the clip - 3 - with a screwdriver.






- Remove the hose/line assembly - 1 - or plastic hose with O-ring - 2 - from the bracket.

Place a cloth underneath to catch any dripping brake fluid.






- Open the clip - 2 - with a screwdriver and remove either the hose/line assembly - 4 - or the plastic hose and O-ring - 3 - from the bleeder - 1 -.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

O-rings - 2 - or seals - difference. Refer to => [ O-ring or Seal for Either the Hose/Line Assembly or the Plastic Hose ] Hydraulics Overview






- Check the O-ring - 2 - for damage and replace if necessary.

- Press the hose/line assembly - 1 -, or plastic hose, onto the clutch master cylinder - 4 - until the clips - 3 - audibly engage.

- Pull on the line to check.

- Check the O-ring - 3 - for damage and replace if necessary.






- Install the hose/line assembly - 4 - or the plastic hose on the bleeder connection until the clip - 2 - audibly engages.

- Pull on the line to check.

- Bleed the clutch system. Refer to => [ Clutch System, Bleeding ] Service and Repair.

- Install the battery tray and the battery.

- Install the air filter housing.
