Subframe, Diagonal Brace, Ball Joint, Stabilizer Bar, Transverse Link, Bracket and Vehicle Level Sensor Overview
1 - Nut
• 65 Nm
• Always replace if removed.
2 - Coupling Rod
• Linking stabilizer to suspension strut.
3 - Bracket
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Console ] Console.
4 - Mounting Bracket
• With bonded rubber bushing.
5 - Bolt
• 50 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
6 - Bolt
• 70 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
7 - Bolt
• 70 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
8 - Left Front Level Control System Sensor (G78) and Right Front Level Control Sensor (G289)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Level Control System Sensor ] Front Suspension.
9 - Bolt
• 9 Nm
10 - Diagonal Brace
• Only on the Cabriolet.
• The contact surfaces must not have any wax on them.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Diagonal Braces ] Front Suspension.
11 - Bolt
• 90 Nm + 45° turn
• Always replace if removed.
12 - Bolt
• 90 Nm + 45° turn
• Always replace if removed.
13 - Transverse Link
• There are different transverse links available: made from aluminum, cast steel, welded sheet steel or single sheet steel. Allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
• Do not mix transverse links made from different materials on the right and left sides. Allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
• Mixing transverse links made from welded sheet steel or single sheet steel on the right and left side is permitted. Allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
• Replace with ball joint if damaged.
• Transverse link and bracket, manual transmission, removing and installing, refer to => [ Transverse Link with Mounting Bracket, Manual Transmission ] Transverse Link With Mounting Bracket, Manual Transmission.
• Left transverse link and bracket, S-Tronnic and automatic transmission, removing and installing, refer to => [ Left Transverse Link with Mounting Bracket, S-Tronic or Automatic Transmission ] Left Transverse Link With Mounting Bracket, S-Tronic or Automatic Transmission.
• Transverse link bonded rubber bushing, removing and installing, refer to => [ Transverse Link Bonded Rubber Bushing ] Service and Repair.
14 - Nut
• 60 Nm
• Always replace if removed.
15 - Ball Joint
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Ball Joint ] Service and Repair.
• Replace if the transverse is damaged.
16 - Nut
• Cast steel transverse link: 60 Nm
• Sheet steel transverse link: 100 Nm
• Aluminum transverse link: 60 Nm
• Always replace if removed.
17 - Nut
• 9 Nm
18 - Bolt
• 70 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
• There are different versions depending on the market.
• Allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
19 - Threaded Connection on Steering Gear
• 50 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
20 - Threaded Connection on Stabilizer Bar
• 20 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
21 - Bolt
• 70 Nm + 90° turn
• Always replace if removed.
22 - Retainer Plate
• Only on the Cabriolet.
23 - Bolt
• 100 Nm + 90° turn
• Tighten only when the pendulum support is bolted to the transmission.
• Always replace if removed.
24 - Lower Bonded Rubber Bushing for Pendulum Support
• Bonded rubber bushing, removing and installing, refer to => [ Subframe Bonded Rubber Bushings ] Service and Repair.
25 - Bolt
• For manual transmission tightening specifications.
• For automatic transmission tightening specifications.
26 - Bolt
• For manual transmission tightening specifications.

27 - Bracket on Pendulum Support
• No replacement part.
28 - Pendulum Support
• Bolt first to transmission, then to subframe.
• Various versions.

29 - Retainer Plate
• Only on the Cabriolet.

• 6 Nm

• Always replace if removed.
• Tighten only in curb weight position.
35 - Nut
• 65 Nm
• Always replace if removed.
