Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister






Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister

Checking for leaks, refer to => [ Leak Detection Test, Performing ] Diagnosis and Testing.

Removing

- Follow all safety precautions. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Service Precautions.

- Follow the guidelines for cleanliness. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.

- Remove the left rear underbody cover..

- Disconnect the connector - 7 -.






- Press the release button and remove the ventilation lines:

1 Ventilation hose to fuel tank
6 vacuum line to the engine
9 Vent line to the EVAP canister purge regulator valve 1 (N80)

- Remove the clamps and disconnect the vent line - 4 - to the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) (V144) air filter.

- Remove the bolts - 2, 5 and 8 - and remove the EVAP canister - 3 -.

Installing

Tightening specification, refer to => [ EVAP Canister and Leak Detection System Overview ] EVAP Canister and Leak Detection System Overview.

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps of the same type as those equipped by the factory. Refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

- Connect the air and vent lines until they engage audibly.
