Oil Pump
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Assembly Tool (T10118)
• Locking Tool (T40265)
• Counter Hold Tool (T10355)
Removing
- Remove the noise insulation in the center by loosening the fasteners - 1 and 2 -.
- Disconnect the connector - 1 - from the oil level thermal sensor (G266).
- Drain engine oil.
- Remove the bolts - 1 to 20 -.
- Remove oil pan, if necessary loosen by applying light strikes with a rubber hammer.
- Remove the oil baffle - arrows -.
- Pull the chain tensioner spring with the (T10118) in the direction of the - arrow - and secure it with the (T40265).
- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the oil pump.
Installing
• For the correct tightening specifications, refer to => [ Oil Pan and Oil Pump Overview ] Engine
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- Make sure both alignment bushings for centering the oil pump are in there.
- Check the strainer in the oil intake pipe and the oil channels in the upper oil pan for contamination before installing the oil pump.
- Install the chain sprocket for the oil pump and then install the oil pump.
Danger of causing damage to the engine.
• The following procedure must be observed otherwise the chain tensioner spring does not spring into the installed position:
- Pull the chain tensioner spring with the (T10118) in the direction of the - arrow - and remove the (T40265).
- Insert the new oil baffle and attach it.
• There are plastic ribs on the oil baffle that deform permanently when tightening. The plastic ribs ensure the oil baffle is not loosen and does not rattle. Because of this, always replace the oil baffle.
- Install lower oil pan, refer to => [ Lower Oil Pan ] Lower Oil Pan.
