Oil Pump

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Long Nose Grip Pliers (VAS 6226)

Removing

- Remove the lower oil pan section. Refer to => [ Lower Oil Pan ] Lower Oil Pan.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the oil baffle.






- Remove the bolts - 1 and 2 -.






- Hold the oil pump drive shaft - 3 - with the (VAS 6226) and push it against the spring force.

- Remove the oil pump.

• The oil pump drive shaft remains installed.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• For the correct tightening specifications, refer to => [ Oil Pump and Lower Oil Pan Overview ] Oil Pump and Lower Oil Pan Overview.

• Replace the oil baffle bolts.

- Make sure the 2 dowel sleeves are in the oil pump. If they are not, install them.

- Install lower oil pan => [ Installing ] Lower Oil Pan.

- Fill engine oil and check oil level.
