Oil Pan and Oil Pump Component Overview
1 Oil pan
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Oil Pan ] Oil Pan
• Install with sealant
2 Torque bracket
3 23 Nm
4 Oil pump
• With pressure relief valve 12 bar
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Oil Pump ] Oil Pump
• Before installing, check to be sure both alignment bushings => [ (Item 12) Fitting sleeves ] are present (for centering oil pump/cylinder block)
• Replace if running surfaces and gears are scored
• Tightening specification oil pump cover to oil pump housing: 10 Nm
5 Chain sprocket for oil pump
• Can only be positioned one way on the oil pump shaft
6 22 Nm
7 Drive chain for oil pump
• Mark direction of rotation before removing
• Check for wear
8 15 Nm
9 Sealing flange, front
• Must be located on dowel sleeves
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Front Sealing Flange ] Service and Repair
• Install with sealant.
• Seal for crankshaft - ribbed belt side, replacing, refer to => [ Crankshaft Seal, Belt Pulley Side ] Service and Repair
10 Chain tensioner
• Tighten to 16 Nm.
• Do not disassemble
• Note installation position
• When installing, pretension spring and hook in
• If the spring is broken, replace the chain tensioner completely
11 Chain sprocket for oil pump
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Chain Sprocket ] Service and Repair
12 Fitting sleeves
• 2 pieces
13 O-ring
• Replace
14 16 Nm
15 Suction line
• Clean strainer if contaminated
16 Oil baffle
17 16 Nm
18 15 Nm
• Fasten diagonally in steps
• Observe tightening sequence => [ Install oil pan immediately and tighten the
bolts in the described sequence: ] Oil Pan
19 40 Nm
20 Seal
• Replace
21 Gasket
• Replace
22 Oil return line
• From turbocharger
23 10 Nm
Oil spray jet and pressure relief valve
1 Oil spray jet (for piston cooling)
2 Bolt with pressure relief valve - 27 Nm
• Opening pressure 1.3 to 1.6 bar.
