Cover control system, replacing

Removal
Remove the auxiliary brackets.
Remove the subframe front. See: Sub-frame front, replacing, B6324S5 Service and Repair.
Note! Leave the container in place for the next few procedures relating to removal.
Removing level plug/draining plug
Remove the integrated level plug/Torx.
Remove the draining plug.
When the transmission is empty:
- use new gaskets
- lubricate the gaskets. Use ATF-oil
- tighten both. See: Tightening torque Tightening Torque.
Hint: To prevent leakage, install a plastic plug in the hole.
Removing the cover
Remove torx TX40.
Clean off any sealant from the threads. Use thread tap M8 x 1.25.
Removing the control system cover
Remove the cover.
Use joint wedge 999 5477 JOINT WEDGE 999 5477 JOINT WEDGE , which is carefully tapped in between the cover and transmission so that the cover's sealing flange is not warped.
Cleaning the cover
Caution! Ensure that no debris enters the transmission.
Clean gasket residue from the cover and transmission. Clean the cover thoroughly. Check that the contact surface of the cover is flat.
Installation
Cleaning cover
Wipe the cleaned mating surfaces of the cover and the transmission dry. Use Isopropanol
Apply a bead of sealant, P/N 116 1409-6, approximately 3 mm thick on the cover.
Also apply sealant around the screw holes.
Installing cover
Note! Ensure that the sealant is not rubbed when the cover is installed.
Use new screws.
Tighten:
- alternately to light contact
- see: Tightening torque Tightening Torque.
Installing the subframe
Install the subframe front. See: Sub-frame front, replacing, B6324S5 Service and Repair.
Install the auxiliary brackets.
Filling of oil
Top up oil. See: Transaxle oil, B6324S5, TF-80SC, B6324S5, TF-80SC AWD Transaxle Oil.
