-------------------------------------------------

Checking the component

Warning! Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non-deployed adaptive seat belt force limiter. The adaptive seat belt force limiter could deploy!

- Ignition off, wait for 15 seconds.
- Disconnect the connector from the front passenger adaptive seat belt force limiter.
- Attach a special tool to the connector (to the ignition cable). To carry out this procedure, use: 951 1506 Test dummy 951 1506 Test Dummy

Note! The special tool must be checked and fault-free. If the special tool is faulty, the diagnostic readings will be incorrect. This will make fault-tracing harder.

- Switch on the ignition. Wait 10 seconds.
Read off the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol.
- If the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is permanent: Select alternative 1.
- If the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is intermittent: Select alternative 2.

- Ignition off, wait for 15 seconds.
- Disconnect the connector for Supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
- Disconnect the connector from the front passenger adaptive seat belt force limiter.
Check connectors for damage to pins and connections.
Check the connectors. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance. Check for oxidation.
Also check the other connectors and terminals that join the cables between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the adaptive seat belt force limiter.
Check the cable for short-circuit to ground.
Take readings between:
- Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) terminal #C1:20(#B20) and the connector for the front adaptive passenger seat belt force limiter terminal #1.
- Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) terminal #C1:19(#B19) and the connector for the front adaptive passenger seat belt force limiter terminal #2.
Remedy as necessary.
