Temperature sensor fluid, transaxle, (TFT)

Note! As the illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and / or models, some variation may occur. However, the essential information is always correct.

Preparatory work

Disconnecting the battery lead
Disconnect the battery negative cable.

Removal

Removing the control system cover
Move the gear selector to position N.
Remove the control system cover. See: Cover, control system, B5254T7, AW55-50/51SN Cover, Control System.

Removing the cable harness




Carefully disconnect the wiring connectors from the solenoids.
Remove the screw for the oil temperature sensor connected to the cable harness.
Carefully secure the cable harness to expose the control system.

Removing the control system




Slacken off the control system screws alternately.
Counterhold the control system. Remove the screws, unhook the control rod for the gear selector slide from the gear selector lever.

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see: Tightening torque, B5254T7, AW55-50/51SN, B5254T7, M66 Tightening Torque.

Replacing sealing rings




Remove the sealing rings from the transmission.

Note! Make sure that no debris enters the transmission.

Install new seals in the transmission. Use petroleum jelly to hold the seals in position.

Checking the gear selector slide




Check that the control rod for the gear selector slide is correctly positioned.

Installing the control system





Note! Make sure that the gear selector's lever is in N (neutral).

Align the control system on the lever for the gear selector.

Install:
- the screws for the control system
- a new gasket for the cover on the control system.

Note! The various screw lengths are indicated in mm.

Lightly tighten the M6 screws alternately. Then tighten alternately.

Installing the cable harness




Connect the connectors to the solenoids.
Install the oil temperature sensor using the holder and the M6 screw. Tighten.

Note! Screw lengths are indicated in mm.

Install the cable harness on the holder. Check that the cable harness is correctly positioned. Connect the connectors to the solenoids.

Installing the control system cover
Install the control system cover. See: Cover, control system, B5254T7, AW55-50/51SN Cover, Control System.

Finishing

Installing the battery lead
Fit the battery's negative cable.
