Remove the oil return pipe from the oil cooler and the transmission.
Hint: The quick-release connectors for the oil line are detached by pressing the connection housing for the oil line towards the cover/oil cooler. Hold the connection housing in this position. Pull back the lugs on the connection housing. Pull the connector off the cover / oil cooler.
Removing the splash guard
Remove the splash guard under the engine.
Place a container underneath the transmission.
Note! Leave the container in place for the next few procedures relating to removal.
Note the quantity of oil collected.
Note! The collected oil must not be reused.
Drain the transmission oil.
Tighten the plug. See: Tightening torque, B5254T7, AW55-50/51SN, B5254T7, M66 Tightening Torque.
Removing components from the transmission
Remove:
- the hose from the charge air pipe. Move the hose to one side
- the oil line from the transmission and the oil cooler.
Hint: The quick-release connector for the oil cooler is detached by pressing the connection housing for the oil line towards the oil cooler. Hold the connection housing in this position. Pull back the lugs on the connection housing. Pull the connector off the oil cooler.
Seal the hole in the transmission with a plastic plug.
Removing screws
Remove all screws for the control system cover. Leave the cover in place.
Clean any sealing compound from the threads. Use tap M8x1.25.
