Preparatory work
Remove:
- the wheel
- the spring
For FWD, see: Spring, B5254T7, AW55-50/51SN, B5254T7, M66 Spring, Rear
For AWD, see: Spring, B5254T7, AW55-50/51SN, B5254T7, M66 Spring, Rear
- the 2 nuts. Use a Torx wrench as a counterhold so that the boot is not damaged
- the ball joints.
Removal
Removing the control arm
Remove:
- the screw for the wheel spindle (1)
- the screw x1 for the sub-frame (2).
Turn the anti-roll bar approximately 30° and remove the control arm.
Installation
Installing the control arm
Note! For tightening torques, see: Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications.
Install:
- the control arm
- the 2 screws, (1) and (2). Do not tighten yet.
Note! The rear suspension must be in the normal position when tightening all the joints in the rear suspension where rubber bushings are involved. See: Normal position Stay, Arm, Joint.
Tighten the screws. For tightening torques, see: Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications.
Finishing
Install:
- the ball joints
- the 4 nuts. Use a Torx wrench as a counterhold so that the boot is not damaged. Tighten. See: Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications
- the spring
