Engine, removal

Removal

Drain the fuel system. Refer to: Fuel system pressure release Fuel System Pressure Release.

Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Service and Repair

Remove the following items:
- accessory drive belt. Refer to: Auxiliary belt, B6304T2 Service and Repair
- engine control module (ECM). Refer to: Engine control module (ECM), B6304T2 Engine Control Module (ECM)
- exhaust manifold. Refer to: Exhaust manifold, B6304T2 Service and Repair
- left driveshaft. Refer to: Driveshaft left, B6304T2, TF-80SC AWD Driveshaft Left Driveshaft left Driveshaft Left
- right drive shaft. Refer to: Drive shaft right. Service and Repair
- subframe.
- bevel gear. Bevel Gear

Ensure that the lifting table is centered under the engine/transmission for optimal weight distribution. Check that the lifting table is correctly positioned.
Secure the engine / transmission in the lifting table with a retaining strap.
Open the cock for the hydraulic modulator for the lifting table. Ask a colleague to help. Lower the vehicle at the same time as opening the lifting table compressed air unit.
Stop the vehicle immediately before the lifting table reaches its lower position. Close the cock for the hydraulic modulator for the lifting table.

Remove the following items:
- right-hand engine mounting. Refer to: Engine support insulator, right, B6304T2 Engine Support Insulator, Right
- left-hand engine mounting. Refer to: Engine support insulator left, B6304T2 Engine Support Insulator Left

Caution! Make sure that no components catch when raising the car.

Raise the car.
