Brake disc front, checking

Removal

Remove the brake caliper. Refer to: Front brake caliper Front Brake Caliper.

Make sure that the contact surfaces of the brake disc and clamping ring are clean. Fit the screws, but only tighten slightly.
Tighten crosswise to 90 Nm. 981 4031 Torque socket 19 mm 981 4031 Torque Socket 19 mm

Fit the bracket that is part of the measuring equipment. Use M12x40 wing screws and M12 nuts from the kit.




Fit the dial indicator in the bracket. Position the dial indicator's tip toward the brake disc.
Slowly rotate the brake disc. The maximum lateral runout of the hub should not exceed 0.02 mm.
If lateral runout exceeds 0.02 mm, replace the brake disc. Refer to: Front brake disc Front Brake Disc.

Note! Always check the wheel hub's lateral runout before installing a new brake disc. Refer to: Wheel hub front, checking Wheel Hub Front, Checking.
