Center console, replacing

Removal

Removing the center console




Slide the front seats backwards/downwards.
Apply the parking brake securely.
Shift the gear selector lever to neutral

Remove:
- the side panel. See: Center console, replacing Center Console, Replacing
- the rubber mat in the storage compartment
- the 4 screws
- the panel for the gear selector.
- the side piece for the parking brake. See: Center console, replacing Center Console, Replacing
- the rear ashtray. See: Ashtray rear, replacing, B5244T5, B5254T2 Ashtray, Rear.
Disconnect the connectors.

Caution! Protect the parking brake lever to prevent damage.

Begin by carefully lifting the center console at the front edge. Lift the console past the guide lugs Then lift the rear edge and slide the center console over the parking brake.

Transferring components

Transferring components

Transfer:
- the cigarette lighter assembly. See: Cigarette lighter assembly/electrical socket rear, replacing, M58, M66, M66 AWD, AW50/51 AWD, AW55-50/51SN, M56 Cigarette Lighter / Electrical Socket, Rear, Replacing
- the cover / armrest.
- the center console compartment.
- the upper side panel for the center console. See: Side panel upper center console, replacing, B5244T5, B5254T2 Side Panel Upper Center Console, Replacing.

Installation

Installing the center console

Caution! Protect the parking brake lever to prevent damage.

Install:
- the center console by inserting it carefully over the parking brake lever and aligning the guide pins at the front edge
- the 4 screws
- the rubber mat in the storage compartment
- the side piece for the parking brake.
- the panel for the gear selector.
- the side panel. See: Center console, replacing.
- the connectors
- the rear ashtray. Ashtray, Rear
