Signal Missing






Signal missing

Checking the component and wiring
Check the cable between phone module (PHM) connector B and the connector for the SIM card reader. Check for an open-circuit.
Check between:
- control module connector terminal B#1 (#21) and SIM card reader connector terminal #1
- control module connector terminal B#2 (#22) and SIM card reader connector terminal #2
- control module connector terminal B#3 (#3) and SIM card reader connector terminal #3
- control module connector terminal B#4 (#4) and SIM card reader connector terminal #4
- control module connector terminal B#5 (#5) and SIM card reader connector terminal #5
- control module connector terminal B#6 (#6) and SIM card reader connector terminal #6.
Check the connectors for loose connections, damaged or bent terminal pins and oxidation.
Try replacing the SIM card reader if no fault is found in the cable.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Activate the carphone.
Make a call so that both the handset and the hands-free system are used. See the instruction manual.
Ignition off.
Ignition on.
Read off the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
Check that the relevant diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has switched status from permanent to intermittent fault.





Has the status of the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) changed?

Yes - Troubleshooting procedure complete

No - Fault-tracing information
