Checking the component and wiring
- Ignition off
- Disconnect connector A from the phone module (PHM).
Check the cable for the cradle signal. Check for an open-circuit.
Take a reading between control module connector A terminal #8 (#8) and handset connector terminal #4 (#24).
Check control module connector A for the cradle signal. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check between:
- terminals #8 (#8) and #7 (#7)
- terminals #8 (8) and #5 (#5).
Try replacing the handset or holder if the cable is OK.
Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- The cradle signal is approximately 5 V when the handset is not in the cradle
- The cradle signal is approximately 0 V when the handset is in the cradle

- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Activate the carphone.
Make a call so that both the handset and the hands-free system are used. See the instruction manual.

Check that the relevant diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has switched status from permanent to intermittent fault.
