Signal Too Low






Signal too low

Checking the component and wiring




- Ignition off
- Disconnect connector A from the phone module (PHM).
Check the cable for the cradle signal. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Check between:
- terminals #8 (#8) and #18 (#18) on control module connector A
- terminals #8 (#8) and #6 (#6) on control module connector A.
Try replacing the handset if the wiring is OK.
Remedy as necessary.

Other information:
- The cradle signal is approximately 5 V when the handset is in use
- The cradle signal is approximately 0 V when the handset is in the cradle

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Activate the carphone.
Make a call so that both the handset and the hands-free system are used. See instruction manual.
- Ignition off.
- Ignition on.
- Read off the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
- Check that the relevant diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has switched status from permanent to intermittent fault.
