Phone module (PHM), replacing

Preparatory work

Removing the dashboard environment panel




Ignition off.
Remove the bracket for the dashboard environment panel / infotainment panel. See: MiniDisc / CD control module, replacing Service and Repair.

Removal

Removing the Phone module (PHM)




Remove the 2 screws.
Disconnect the connectors.
Remove the phone module (PHM) and the bracket.

Installation

Installing the Phone module (PHM)





Note! Check that there is no dirt in the optical connectors.

Connect the connectors.

Note! The bend radius of the optic cables and antenna cables must not be less than 25 mm.

Install:
- the phone module (PHM) and the bracket
- the 2 screws. Tighten.





Hint: To facilitate installation of the control module, the rounded corner can be cut even with the corner of the control module. See illustration.

Finishing

Installing the dashboard environment panel
Install the bracket for the dashboard environment panel / infotainment panel. See: MiniDisc / CD control module, replacing Service and Repair.

Ordering software

Note! After replacing the phone module (PHM), new software must be ordered and the module programmed.

Order software. Software Downloading

Volvo On Call
- Activate according to: Volvo On Call, activation Volvo on Call, Activation.
- Reactivate according to: Volvo On Call, re-activation Volvo on Call, Re-Activation.
- Deactivate according to: Volvo On Call, deactivation (canceling) Volvo on Call, Deactivation (Canceling).

Function test
Perform function test.
