Checking the component and wiring
- Ignition off
- Disconnect connector A from the phone module (PHM).
Check for the power supply cable at control module connector A. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Check between:
- terminals #7 (#7) and #18 (#18)
- terminals #7 (#7) and #6 (#6).
Try replacing the carphone handset if no fault is found in the wiring.
Remedy as necessary.

- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Activate the carphone.
Make a call so that both the handset and the hands-free system are used. See instruction manual.

- Read off the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
- Check that the relevant diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has switched status from permanent to intermittent fault.
