Parking assistance sensor rear, replacing

Special tools:
981 4214 PLUG CAP PLIERS 981 4214 Plug Cap Pliers

Preparatory work

Removing rear bumper




Ignition off.
Remove the rear bumper. See: Bumper rear, replacing Service and Repair.

Method content

This method consists of:
- replacing
- replacing.

Removing the parking assistance sensor




Remove the 4 connectors.
Depress: 981 4214 PLUG CAP PLIERS 981 4214 Plug Cap Pliers between the sensor and the 2 standing catches located on the holder. Ensure that the catches release from the sensor.
Carefully pull up the sensor.

Installing the parking assistance sensor

Install:
- the sensor in the holder. Press the sensor down so that the catches lock the sensor
- the 4 connectors.

Connector parking assistance module (PAM), replacing

Removing the connector parking assistance module (PAM)




Remove the left-hand side panel in cargo compartment.

Note! The control module is located behind the left-hand wheel arch in the cargo compartment.

Caution! The following procedure must be carried out to ensure that the connector and wiring are not damaged when removing the bumper foam.

Follow the cable from the connector for the sensors in the bumper up to the control module.
Remove the connector.

Note! Disconnect the correct connector. The control module has 2 connectors.




Pull the cable out of the hole in the body.

Installing the connector parking assistance module (PAM)




Route the cable through the lead-in in the rear section. See the illustration.

Install:
- the connector
- the left-hand side panel in the cargo compartment.
