Second Generation Power Seats






Seat rails

Removing the seat rail, left hand side

Hint: Move the seat to the highest position.




Remove the seat from the car. See Removing power seats, tilting Removal and Replacement.
Remove the end piece. See Seat belt buckle end mounting Seat Belt Buckle End Mounting.

Remove:
- the two screws for the front-rear adjustment motor
- two plus one screws.
Remove the rail from the bracket and cross member.
Remove the rail.

Installing the seat rail, left hand side





Install:
- the rail on the bracket / cross member
- two plus one screws
- the two screws for the front-rear adjustment motor.
Install the end mounting. See Seat belt buckle end mounting Seat Belt Buckle End Mounting
Install the seat. See Removing power seats, tilting Removal and Replacement.

Note! Removed seat rails must always be checked for movement. Use Vernier calipers to measure from the fixed to the moving component. Both rails should have the same measurement. If not, adjust one of the rails. If the rails do not have the same measurements the seat does not run parallel. This leads to increased wear and noise.

Removing the seat rail, right hand side




Remove the seat from the car. See Removing power seats, tilting Removal and Replacement.

Remove:
- the seat belt buckle. See Seat belt buckle Seat Belt Buckle (Second Generation Power Seats)
- the two screws
- the tension spring

Warning! Be careful when the spring releases. There is considerable force in the spring.

- two plus two screws.
Remove the rail from the bracket and cross member.
Remove the seat rail.

Installing the seat rail, right hand side





Install:
- the seat rail
- two plus two screws
- the spring
- the two screws
- the seat belt buckle. See Seat belt buckle Seat Belt Buckle (Second Generation Power Seats)
- the seat. See Removing power seats, tilting Removal and Replacement
