Checking the component
Ensure that the audio module is fault free by checking that there is sound from the driver's side speaker when, for example, radio-mode is selected on the audio equipment.
Change the volume by selecting "change volume" in the RTI menus.
Hint: If there is no sound from the driver's side speaker, the fault is in the audio equipment. Fault-trace the audio equipment instead.
Is there sound coming from the driver's side speaker?

Check the cable between the RTI control module terminal andthe audio unit terminal #E8. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.
