Replacing damper motors

Method content

This method consists of:
- Replacing damper motor recirculation
- Replacing damper motor air distribution
- Replacing damper motor temperature driver's side
- Replacing damper motor temperature passenger side.

Replacing damper motor recirculation

Removing damper motor recirculation




Switch off the ignition.

Remove:
- the glove compartment. See Panel and SRS passenger airbag module Panel and SRS Passenger Airbag Module
- the soundproofing panel. See: Dashboard Dashboard
- the connector
- the link to the air damper
- the damper motor.

Installing damper motor recirculation





Install:
- the screw, 1 pc., for the damper motor
- the link to the air damper
- the connector.
Perform self-adjustment of the motor according to: Self-adjustment of the shutter motor end position Self-Adjustment of the Shutter Motor End Position.
In connection with self-adjustment, check that the link to the damper runs freely and without problems.
Check that no diagnostic trouble codes have been stored during the repairs according to: Reading off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) Reading Off Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

Install:
- the glove compartment according to: Panel and SRS passenger airbag module Panel and SRS Passenger Airbag Module
- the soundproofing panel. See: Dashboard Dashboard.

Replacing damper motor air distribution

Switch off the ignition.

Right-hand drive car

Remove:
- the soundproofing panel. See: Dashboard Dashboard
- knee bolster, if installed.





Left-hand drive car

Remove:

Soundproofing panel, left side.






Removing damper motor air distribution




Disconnect the damper motor air distribution's connector.
Screw out the screws.





Place a screwdriver between the damper motor and the damper roller.
Remove the damper motor by wiggling carefully with the screwdriver.

Installing damper motor air distribution
Install the damper motor.

Note! Fit the bevel on the damper motor's output shaft in the damper roller.

Plug in the damper motor air distribution's connector.
Install knee bolster, if any.

Left-hand drive car




Install the soundproofing panel.

Right-hand drive car




Install the soundproofing panel. Refer to: Dashboard Dashboard
After replacement, self-adjustment of motors shall be performed.
Check that no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have been stored while the repair was carried out.

Replacing damper motor temperature driver's side

Removing damper motor temperature driver's side





Remove:
- the soundproofing panel. See: Dashboard Dashboard
- knee bolster, if installed
- vacuum box for the cruise control, if installed.





Disconnect the damper motor temperature driver side's connector.
Remove the damper motor temperature driver's side.

Installing damper motor temperature driver's side
Adjust the damper motor according to: Setting damper motors, damper for self-adjustment Setting Damper Motors, Damper for Self-Adjustment.
Install the damper motor.
Plug in the damper motor temperature driver side's connector.

Install:
- vacuum box for the cruise control, if installed
- knee bolster, if installed
- the soundproofing panel. See: Dashboard Dashboard.
After replacement, self-adjustment of motors shall be performed.
Check that no diagnostic trouble codes have been stored during the repairs.

Removing damper motor temperature passenger side





Remove:
- the glove compartment according to: Panel and SRS passenger airbag module Panel and SRS Passenger Airbag Module
- the soundproofing panel. See: Dashboard Dashboard
- knee bolster, if installed
- air channel for floor.





Disconnect the damper motor temperature passenger side's connector.
Remove the damper motor temperature passenger's side.

Installing damper motor temperature passenger's side
Adjust the damper motor according to: Setting damper motors, damper for self-adjustment Setting Damper Motors, Damper for Self-Adjustment.
Install the damper motor.
Plug in the damper motor temperature passenger side's connector.

Install:
- air channel for floor
- knee bolster, if installed
- the soundproofing panel. See: Dashboard Dashboard
- the glove compartment. See Panel and SRS passenger airbag module Panel and SRS Passenger Airbag Module.
After replacement, self-adjustment of motors shall be performed.
Check that no diagnostic trouble codes have been stored during the repairs.
