- Connect the Volvo Scan Tool (ST).
Read off the program status of the convertible top. Check the values at the relevant step.

- Ignition off
- Check control module connector D. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. See Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter in order between:
D7 and ground, motor, front lock.
D13 and ground, motor, rear locking arms.
Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.

No - Checking the engine

- Ignition off
- Check the relevant motor connector for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between motor 1 and ground, and between 2 and ground.
Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Replace the motor if a short-circuit is found.
If no fault is found there is probably a short-circuit in the cable between the control module and the motor connectors.
Remedy as necessary.

Replacing the potentiometer
Replace the potentiometer if the values were not correct. See Replacing the potentiometer Replacing the Potentiometer. Otherwise select "Continue".

Calibrating the convertible system
It is important that the potentiometer values are calibrated and programmed into the control module if the potentiometer has been replaced. Carry out programming and calibration in VIDA.

- Ignition off
- Connect the connectors, install the components, etc.
- Ignition on
- Apply parking brake
- Close the luggage compartment lid
- Speed < 4km/h.
Operate the control switch to move the convertible top.
Move the convertible top to its end positions.
Does the convertible top work?
