Power Steering Gear Overview
1 Right Tie Rod End
• Marked with an "R". Refer to => [ Make sure the correct tie rod end is installed on each side. ] Tie Rod.
• Check dust caps for damage and correct seating.
• Conical pin must be free of grease and oil.
• If necessary, clean using dry rag, do not use cleaning agents.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Tie Rod Ball Joint ] Tie Rod Ball Joint.
2 Nut
• 70 Nm
3 Spring Clamp
4 Boot
• Check for damage.
• Must not be twisted when toe is being adjusted.
5 Clamp
• Always replace if removed.
6 Tie Rod
• 100 Nm
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Tie Rod ] Tie Rod.
7 Seal
• Replace when removing the boot. Refer to => [ Boot ] Boot.
• For the correct allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
8 Power Steering Gear
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Power Steering Gear ] Power Steering Gear.
9 Left Tie Rod End
• Marked with an "L". Refer to => [ Make sure the correct tie rod end is installed on each side. ] Tie Rod.
• Check dust caps for damage and correct seating.
• Conical pin must be free of grease and oil.
