Evaporator Housing






Evaporator Housing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Robinair A/C Service Unit (ROB 134APF)

Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331/) (5 to 50 Nm)

Drip Tray For Shop Crane (VAS 6208)

Hose Clamps up to 25 mm Diameter (3094)

Compressed air gun, commercially available

Danger due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

Danger of frost bite to skin and other parts of the body.

Extract the refrigerant and immediately open the refrigerant circuit after that.

If the refrigerant was extracted more than 10 minutes in the past and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Pressure in the refrigerant circuit is caused by evaporation.

Refrigerant must be extracted before hand using, for example, the (ROB 134APF).

The previously used service stations can still be used. Refer to the workshop equipment catalog.

To prevent the entry of dampness all components of the refrigerant circuit which have been opened must be sealed with suitable plugs.

Environmentally hazardous draining of refrigerant is an offense punishable by law.

8 Sealing ring

9 Expansion Valve Bracket

10 Seal

Pay attention that the seal is seated correctly.

11 Evaporator

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Evaporator ] Evaporator

12 Seal

Pay attention that the seal is seated correctly.

13 Seal

Pay attention that the seal is seated correctly.

14 Lower Section Of Evaporator Housing

15 Evaporator Temperature Sensor (G308)

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Evaporator Temperature Sensor (G308) ] Evaporator Temperature Sensor (G308).

Disassembling

- Remove the heater and A/C unit. Refer to => [ Heating and A/C Unit ] Heating and A/C Unit.

- Disassemble the heater and A/C unit, refer to => [ Heating and A/C Unit ] Heating and A/C Unit.

- Disassemble the evaporator housing.

Assembling

- Assemble in reverse order.

- Pay attention that the seals are seated correctly.
