A/C Compressor
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)
• Robinair A/C Service Unit (ROB 134APF)
• Refrigerant must be extracted before hand using Robinair A/C Service Unit (ROB 134APF) with Flush Unit (VAS 6337/1A) or subsequent models.
• See notes, refer to => [ Refrigerant Circuit Components in Engine Compartment, Servicing ] Refrigerant Circuit Components in Engine Compartment, Servicing.
• The tightening specification for bolts on the refrigerant lines to the A/C compressor is 20 ± 3 Nm.

Removal
- Remove the charge air hose.
- Removing ribbed belt.
- Removing and installing power steering vane pump.
- Disconnect the connector on the A/C compressor.
Danger due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.
Danger of frost bite to skin and other parts of the body.
• Extract the refrigerant and immediately open the refrigerant circuit after that.
• If the refrigerant was extracted more than 10 minutes in the past and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Pressure in the refrigerant circuit is caused by evaporation.
- Remove the refrigerant line from the bracket - 10 - and - 12 -.
- Remove refrigerant lines from A/C compressor.
The bolt tightening specification is 20 ± 3 Nm.
Installation
• Make sure the connector on the A/C compressor is clean.
• Make sure the alignment sleeves between the engine and the A/C compressor fit correctly when installing them.

• Ensure a correct fit in the auxiliary component bracket and A/C compressor during installation.

• Make sure it fits correctly inside the auxiliary component bracket.
