Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair

Crankshaft Seal, Transmission Side

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Assembly Tool (T10122)

• Pulling Hook (T20143)

Removing

- Remove the flywheel. Refer to => [ Flywheel ] Service and Repair.

- Install the pulling hook (T20143/2) behind the sealing lip of the seal as illustrated.






- Support the pulling hook (T20143/2) on the sealing flange and pull the seal in the - direction of the arrow -.

Installing






- Push the outer side of the seal - A - over the sleeve (T10122/1) on the seal installer (T10122/2).

- Remove the guide sleeves.

- Mount the seal installer (T10122/2) with the dry seal on the crankshaft journal.

- Use the thrust piece (T10122/3) to drive the seal into the sealing flange until seated.






Further installation is in the reverse order of removal.
