Engine Mount and Bracket

Removing

- Remove the engine cover. Refer to => [ Engine Cover ] Engine Cover.

The engine mount may only be removed after the engine is supported in the installed position, refer to => [ Engine, Holding in Its Installed Position ] Engine, Holding in Its Installed Position!

The engine mount bracket may first be loosened only when the subframe is removed.

- Hold the engine in its installed position, refer to => [ Engine, Holding in Its Installed Position ] Engine, Holding in Its Installed Position.

- Remove the bolts - B and C -.






- Remove the bolts - A - and remove the engine mount.

- Remove the front wheel housing liner..

Make sure that no components/hoses are damaged, overstretched or torn when lifting or lowering the engine using engine support bridge (10-222 A).

The bolt - 1 - can be reached through an opening in the wheel housing. If necessary, lift or lower the engine with the spindle for the engine support bridge (10-222 A) to remove or install the bolts - 2 and 3 -.

- Remove the engine mount bracket bolts in sequence - 3, 2 and 1 -.






- Remove the engine mount bracket upward.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:

Always use the correct tightening sequence and specification for the engine mount bracket bolts. Otherwise tension could develop in the engine mount bracket and break it.

- Install the engine mount bracket from above.

The bolt - 1 - can be reached through an opening in the wheel housing. If necessary, lift or lower the engine with the spindle for the engine support bridge (10-222 A) to remove or install the bolts - 2 and 3 -.

- First by hand, tighten the bolts in sequence - 1, 2 and 3 -.

Engine Mount Bracket Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification





1 - Tighten the bolts using a torque wrench:

First pass to 8 Nm

Second pass to 40 Nm

2 - Tighten the bolts an addition turn using a ratchet:

Third pass and additional 90° (1/4) turn

Fourth pass and additional 90° (1/4) turn

- Then, tighten the bolts in sequence to the tightening specification, see - item 32 - in the => [ Toothed Belt Drive Overview ] Toothed Belt Drive Overview.

- Install the engine mount and then tighten the bolts - A - followed by - C -, refer to => [ Fastener Tightening Specifications ] Engine Assembly - Fastener Tightening Specifications.






- Use the spindle to bring the engine mount bracket into contact with the engine mount.

- Install bolts - B - and tighten them to specification, refer to => [ Fastener Tightening Specifications ] Engine Assembly - Fastener Tightening Specifications.

Make sure the fuel hoses are secure.

Do not interchange the supply and return lines (the return line is blue or with a blue marks, the supply line is black).
