Input Shaft Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Pulling Hook (T20143/1)

• Thrust Piece (T40008)

• Sealing Grease for Seal (G 052 128 A1)

Requirement

• The transmission is removed

Removing

- Remove the clutch slave cylinder and the release bearing. Refer to => [ Clutch Slave Cylinder with Release Bearing ] Service and Repair.

- Pry out the input shaft seal using the pulling hook (T20143/1).






• Be careful not to damage the contact surface for the shaft seal on the input shaft.

- Fill the space - arrow - between the sealing and dust lips half way with sealing grease for seal (G 052 128 A1).






- Lightly coat the outer circumference of the seal with gear oil.

- Drive in the seal using the thrust piece (T40008) until it is flush.






- Install the clutch slave cylinder and release bearing. Refer to => [ Clutch Slave Cylinder with Release Bearing ] Service and Repair.

• Install the transmission.
