Clutch Master Cylinder: Service and Repair






Clutch Master Cylinder

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Pliers (T10005)

Removing

- Remove the mounting bracket. Refer to => [ Mounting Bracket ] Mounting Bracket.

- Disengage the mount for the clutch master cylinder actuator rod using the pliers (T10005).






- Place a spacer - A - between the clutch pedal and the jounce bumper and then push the clutch pedal as far as the spacer.






Length of spacer = approximately 40 mm (for example, a 1/2" socket)

- Disengage the master cylinder - B - and remove it from the bracket in the - direction of arrow 1 - and then in the - direction of arrow 2 -.

Installing

Move the clutch pedal up to the stop in its rest position.

- Install the mount - 2 - onto the clutch master cylinder actuator rod - 1 -.






- Place a spacer - A - between the clutch pedal and the jounce bumper and then push the clutch pedal as far as the spacer.






Length of spacer = approximately 40 mm (for example, a 1/2" socket)

- Install the clutch master cylinder to the bracket, first in the - direction of arrow 1 - and then in the - direction of arrow 2 -.

- Press the master cylinder actuator rod - 1 - in the - direction of the arrow - until the mount - 2 - engages audibly in the clutch pedal.






- Install the bracket. Refer to => [ Mounting Bracket ] Mounting Bracket.
