Steering Column Combination Switch (E595), Valeo


The removal and installation of individual steering column switch components must be done in a specified sequence. Refer to => [ Steering Column Switch Components, Removal and Installation Sequence ] Steering Column Switch Components, Removal and Installation Sequence.


Risk of airbag deployment!

The airbag unit could deploy if mishandled.

Follow the safety precautions when working on the airbag. Refer to Airbag; Safety Precautions when Working with Airbags.


Follow the instructions described in the repair information regarding disconnecting and connecting the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

Removing

- Disconnect the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting ] Battery, Disconnecting.

- Remove the steering wheel.

- Remove the steering column trim.

- Remove the Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527) - 2 -, refer to => [ Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module, Valeo ] Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527), Valeo.






- Release the catches - 1 - (on top) and - 3 - (on the bottom), and remove the steering column combination switch - 2 - straight toward the back from the steering column switch base carrier.

Installing

- Slide the steering column combination switch into the guides on the steering column switch base carrier until it latches secure.

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Connect the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Connecting ] Battery, Connecting.
