Outer Seat Belt






Outer Seat Belt

Removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle is described here. Removing and installing on the right side is identical.

Removing

- Disconnect the battery.

- Remove the rear bench seat. Refer to => [ Bench Seat ] Bench Seat.

Vehicles with Rear Side Airbag

- Remove the side cushion. Refer to => [ Side Upholstery with Side Airbag ] Side Upholstery with Side Airbag.

Vehicles without Rear Side Airbag

- Remove the rear wheel housing trim. Refer to => [ Wheel Housing Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag ] Wheel Housing Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag.

All Vehicles

- Remove rear shelf. Refer to => [ Rear Shelf ] Rear Shelf.

- Remove the bolt - 1 - (40 Nm).

- Remove the belt end fitting - 2 - from the locking tab - 3 -.






- From inside the luggage compartment, loosen the bracket - 1 - for the connector - 2 - off the rear wall upper section.

- Disconnect the connector - 2 -.







Electrostatic discharges can lead to unintended deployment of the airbag. Therefore, mechanic must electrostatic discharge him-/herself before disconnecting harness connector. This is done, for example, by briefly grasping the chassis or door striker.

- Remove the bolt - 3 - (40 Nm).

- Loosen the retainer - 1 - of the rear wall upper section - 2 -.

- Remove the automatic belt retractor - 4 - with the connector - 5 - from the rear wall upper section in - direction of arrow -.






Installation

- Install in reverse order of removal.
