Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor (Driver Side) G256

• The left rear thorax airbag crash sensor (G256) is installed from the inside on the rear wheel housing.

Removing


Always read the General Safety Precautions before working on airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnical components). Refer to => [ Seat Belt and Airbag Components, General Safety Precautions ] Seat Belt and Airbag Components, General Safety Precautions.

Perform the following:

- Disconnect the battery.

- Remove the rear bench seat. Refer to => [ Bench Seat ] Bench Seat.

- Remove the side cushion. Refer to => [ Side Upholstery with Side Airbag ] Side Upholstery with Side Airbag.

- Wheel housing trim with side airbag. Refer to => [ Wheel Housing Trim, Vehicles with Side Airbag ] Wheel Housing Trim, Vehicles with Side Airbag.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 - from the crash sensor - 3 -.

- Remove the bolt - 2 - (9 Nm) and the crash sensor - 3 - from the body - 4 -.






Installation

- Install in reverse order of removal.

- Turn on the ignition.


Make sure no one is in the vehicle.

- Connect the battery.
