Rear Side Airbag

• Removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle is described here. Removing and installing on the right side is identical.

Removing


Always read the General Safety Precautions before working on airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnical components). Refer to => [ Seat Belt and Airbag Components, General Safety Precautions ] Seat Belt and Airbag Components, General Safety Precautions.

- Disconnect the battery.

- Remove the side cushion with the side airbag - 1 -. Refer to => [ Side Upholstery with Side Airbag ] Side Upholstery with Side Airbag.

- Disconnect the connector - 2 - and wiring harness from the side cushion - 1 -.

- Remove the screws - 3 - (9 Nm).

• The screws are microencapsulated and must be replaced after each loosening.

• Before installing the new screws, the threads of the corresponding nuts must be cleaned.

- Remove the rear side airbag - 4 - from the side cushion - 1 -.






Installation

- Install in reverse order of removal.

- Turn on the ignition.


Make sure no one is in the vehicle.

- Connect the battery.
