Steering Column Combination Switch (E595), Kostal
The removal and installation of individual steering column switch components must be done in a specified sequence. Refer to => [ Steering Column Switch Components, Removal and Installation Sequence ] Steering Column Switch Components, Removal and Installation Sequence.
• Risk of airbag deployment!
• The airbag unit could deploy if mishandled.
• Follow the safety precautions when working on the airbag. Refer to Airbag; Safety Precautions when Working with Airbags.
Follow the instructions described in the repair information regarding disconnecting and connecting the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
Removing
- Disconnect the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting ] Battery, Disconnecting.
- Remove the steering wheel.
- Remove the steering column trim.
- Remove the Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527) - 1 -, refer to => [ Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module, Kostal ] Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527), Kostal.
- Remove the screw - 2 - and remove the complete steering column combination switch - 1 - from the steering column switch base carrier.
Installing
- Slide the steering column combination switch into the slide on the steering column switch base carrier.
- Tighten the threaded connection to the tightening specifications. Refer to => [ Steering Column Switch, With KESSY Overview ].
- Connect the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Connecting ] Battery, Connecting.
