Clutch System Overviews
• Get the anti-theft code for the radio before disconnecting the battery.
• Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery Ground (GND) cable.
• Lubricate the various bearing and contact surfaces with grease (G 000 450 02).

Clutch Pedal
1 Bulkhead
• With a mount for the bracket
2 Gasket

3 Mounting Bracket
• For clutch pedal mounting

11 Master Cylinder

12 Clutch Position Sensor (G476)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Position Sensor (G476) ] Service and Repair
• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" with the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B)
• The clutch position sensor is called clutch pedal switch (F36) in "Guided Fault Finding"
13 Clip
• The clamp must be removed in order to remove/install the hose/line assembly
14 Supply Hose
• Rubber
• Golf 2009 ->, refer to => [ Plastic Supply Hose. ]
15 Nut
• 25 Nm
• Always replace
• Quantity: 3
• For the bracket to the bulkhead
16 Nut
• 25 Nm
• Always replace
17 Stop
• For the clutch pedal

3 Supply Hose
• Rubber

4 Master Cylinder
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Master Cylinder ] Service and Repair
5 Clamp
• To remove and install the hose/line assembly or plastic line, pull the clip all the way out.
• On some master cylinders, it is pulled out on the side
6 Seal
• Install on the line connection
• Install with brake fluid
• Adapt the seals to the line connection version, refer to => [ Sealing Ring/O-ring for Hose/Line Assembly
or Plastic Line ]

7 Mount
• To remove and install, separate the clutch master cylinder from the clutch pedal, refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Clutch Pedal

13 Bracket

14 Seal
• Install on the line connection
• Install with brake fluid

15 Bleeder
16 Clamp
• To remove and install the hose/line assembly or plastic line and the bleeder, pull the clip out to the stop
17 Vent Valve
• Bleed the clutch mechanism, refer to => [ Clutch System, Bleeding ] Procedures

19 Clutch Slave Cylinder
• The gasket can only be replaced when the transmission is removed.

20 Transmission
Sealing Ring/O-ring for Hose/Line Assembly or Plastic Line
Plastic Supply Hose - 1 -.
• The seals - 2 - must be inside the supply hose.
