Wiper Arm: Adjustments

Windshield Wiper Blades, Adjusting Park Position

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• To adjust the end position of the windshield wiper blades, it is necessary to shut off the wiper motor in the lowest park position.

- Deactivate the APP function. Refer to=> [ Alternating Park Position (APP Function), Deactivating ] Testing and Inspection if not already done by this time.

- Move the wiper motor to the end position and then switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.

Driver Side






The distance - a - between the center of the wiper blade - 1 - and the bottom edge of the windshield - 2 - must be 10 mm on the driver side - B -.

- If necessary, adjust the windshield wiper blade end position by repositioning the wiper arm. Refer to=> [ Wiper Arms ] Service and Repair.

- Tighten the mounting nut to specification. Refer to=> [ Windshield Wiper System Overview ] Windshield Wiper System Overview.

Passenger Side






The distance - a - between the center of the wiper blade - 1 - and the bottom edge of the windshield - 2 - must be 17.5 mm on the front passenger side - A -.

- If necessary, adjust the windshield wiper blade end position by repositioning the wiper arm. Refer to=> [ Wiper Arms ] Service and Repair.

- Tighten the mounting nut to specification. Refer to=> [ Windshield Wiper System Overview ] Windshield Wiper System Overview.
