Seal, Between the Transmission and Bevel Box, Transmission Side

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Pulling Hook (T20143)

• Use Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

• Thrust Piece (T10243)

Removing

- Remove the bevel box. Refer to => [ Bevel Box ] Removal and Replacement.

Place the used oil collecting and extracting device (V.A.G 1782) under the transmission.

- Pry out the seal from the transmission using the pulling hook (T20143/1) or (T20143/2).

Installing

- Fill the area between the sealing and dust lips - arrow - halfway with sealing grease fro seal (G 052 128 A1).






- Lightly lubricate the outer circumference of the seal.

- Carefully install the seal all the way using the thrust piece (T10243).






- Install the bevel box. Refer to => [ Bevel Box ] Removal and Replacement.

- Check the gear oil level in the bevel box and fill, if necessary. Refer to => [ Bevel Box Gear Oil Level, Checking and Filling ] Procedures.
