Front Seat Belts, Passat CC from MY 2009 and CC from 2010
• The following describes removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle. Removing and installing on the right side is identical.

Removing
• Always read the General Safety Precautions before working on airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnical components). • Pay attention especially to the instructions for belt tensioners. Refer to => [ Belt Tensioner, Special Instructions ] Belt Tensioner, Special Instructions.
- Disconnect the battery.
- Remove the upper B-pillar trim from the brackets => [ Upper B-Pillar trim, Tightening and Loosening from Mount for Passat CC from 2009 and CC from 2010 ] Upper B-Pillar trim, Tightening and Loosening from Mount for Passat CC from 2009 and CC from 2010.
- Remove the B-pillar lower trim. Refer to => [ Lower B-Pillar Trim ] Lower B-pillar Trim
- Remove the bolt - 1 - (40 Nm) and remove the belt anchor - 2 - from body.
- Remove screw - 3 - (40 Nm) and remove automatic belt retractors - 4 - from B-pillar.
Electrostatic charges may result in involuntary deployment of the belt tensioner. Therefore, the technician must discharge static electricity from the body before disconnecting the ignition wire and ground wire. This is done, for example, by briefly touching the body or the door striker or pin.
- Disconnect wiring harness from belt inertia reels.
- Remove bolts - 5 - (4.5 Nm) and belt guide - 6 -.
- Remove the bolt - 7 - (40 Nm) and remove the belt relay - 8 - from belt height adjuster.
Installing
- Install in reverse order of removal.
- Connect the battery.
