Engine, Securing to the Engine and Transmission Holder (VAS 6095)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Engine and Transmission Holder (VAS 6095)

Universal Mounting (VAS 6095/1)

Bracket for V6 TDI Engine (VAS 6095/1-4)

Lifting Tackle (3033)

Shop Crane - Load Cap = 700-1200 KG (VAS 6100)

Lift Arm Ext./Workshop Hoist (VAS 6101)

Secure the engine to the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095) using the universal mounting (VAS 6095/1) and the brackets for V6 TDI engine (VAS 6095/1-4) when performing assembly work.

Procedure

The engine/transmission assembly is removed and separated on the scissor lift table (VAS 6131 A). Refer to => [ Engine/Transmission, Separating ] Engine/Transmission, Separating.

Place a cloth underneath to catch any leaking power steering fluid.






- Remove power steering pressure line banjo bolt - arrow -.

- Remove the electrical wire bracket bolt - arrow - and bracket from the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor.






- Remove the engine mount to engine carrier bolts - arrows - on the left and right sides.






The engine carrier remains in the installed position.

- Install the lift arm ext./workshop hoist (VAS 6101) to the shop crane - load cap = 700-1200 KG (VAS 6100). Then install the lifting tackle (3033) to the engine lifting eyes and the (VAS 6101) and (VAS 6100) as shown.






- Raise the engine from the engine carrier.

- Remove the nuts - arrows - and the connector bracket from the left engine mount bracket.






- Remove the bolts - 1 through 4 - for the right and left engine mount brackets and then remove the engine mount brackets.






The left engine mount bracket is shown in the illustration.

- Install the bracket for V6 TDI engine (VAS 6095/1-4) to the engine (bolts 60 Nm) and install the engine and bracket to the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095) as shown in illustration.
