Installing

Tightening sequence and specifications, refer to --> [ Transmission Side Sealing Flange, Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification ] Sealing Flange and Dual Mass Flywheel Assembly Overview.

Use silicone sealant (D 174 003 A2).

Note the expiration date of the silicone sealant (D 174 003 A2).

The sealing flange must be installed within 5 minutes after applying the silicone sealant (D 174 003 A2).

Thickness of sealant bead: 2 to 3 mm

The sealing flange must be installed within 5 minutes after applying the silicone sealant (D 174 003 A2).

The sealant bead must not be thicker than specified, otherwise excess sealant could get into the oil pan and clog the strainer in the intake line of the oil pump.

The (T20097) may only be removed after the sealing flange has been slid onto the crankshaft end.

- Position the (T20097) on the crankshaft end.

- Slide the sealing flange onto the crankshaft end with the (T20097).

- Tighten the bolts:

Tightening sequence and specification, refer to --> [ Transmission Side Sealing Flange, Bolt Tightening Sequence and Specification ] Sealing Flange and Dual Mass Flywheel Assembly Overview.

After installing the sealing flange, the sealant must dry for approximately 30 minutes. Only after then may the engine oil be added.

The rest of the assembly is performed in the reverse order of removal.
