U760E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE: PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

2. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY Removal

3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (for PZEV) Removal

4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (except PZEV) Removal

5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the wire harness clamp.





(b) Remove the clip from the transmission cable bracket.





(c) Remove the nut and transmission control cable from the control shaft lever.





(d) Disconnect the connector from the park/neutral position switch.

(e) Remove the nut, washer and control shaft lever from the control shaft.





(f) Remove the 2 bolts and park/neutral position switch from the control shaft.





NOTICE:
Before removing the park/neutral position switch, remove any dirt or rust on the installation portion of the control shaft. Be sure to remove the switch straight along the shaft while being careful not to deform the plate spring that supports the shaft. If the plate spring is deformed, the park/neutral switch cannot be reinstalled correctly.
