2AR-FE FUEL: FUEL INJECTOR: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to new O-rings, and then install one onto each fuel injector.





(b) Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to the part of the fuel delivery pipe which comes into contact with the O-ring of the fuel injector.





(c) Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to the O-ring again, and then install the fuel injectors onto the fuel delivery pipe.

NOTICE:
Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or jammed when installing the injector.

(d) Check that the fuel injector rotates smoothly. If the fuel injector does not rotate, replace the O-ring.

2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install 4 new injector vibration insulators to the cylinder head.





(b) Install the 2 fuel delivery spacers onto the cylinder head.

HINT
Install the fuel delivery spacer so that the longer protrusion is on the cylinder head side.





(c) Install the fuel delivery pipe together with the 4 fuel injectors to the cylinder head, and then temporarily install the 2 bolts.





NOTICE:
Be careful not to drop the fuel injectors when installing the fuel delivery pipe.

(d) Check that the fuel injector rotates smoothly.

If the fuel injector does not rotate, replace the O-ring.

(e) Tighten the 2 bolts to the specified torque.





Torque : 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

3. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS





Install the 2 wire harness brackets with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(a) Connect the 3 connectors.

(b) Connect the 4 fuel injector connectors.

(c) Attach the 2 clamps to connect the wire harness.

4. INSTALL VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for ACIS) Installation

5. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Push the tube connector to the pipe until the tube connector makes a "click" sound.

NOTICE:
* Before connecting the connector and fuel pipe, check that there is no damage or foreign matter on the connecting part of the fuel pipe.
* After connecting the fuel tube connector and pipe, check that they are securely connected by trying to pull them apart.

(b) Install the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp.

(c) Install the fuel tube sub-assembly to the fuel hose clamp.

6. INSTALL COWL TOP OUTER FRONT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

7. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY Installation

8. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

9. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH Installation

10. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH Installation

11. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Installation

12. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Installation

13. INSTALL AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

14. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (for PZEV) Installation

15. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (except PZEV) Installation

16. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

17. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

18. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK Fuel System
