Rear Sunshade Shift-Linked Function Does Not Operate When Shift Lever Is Moved To R Position (from 12/2010)
INTERIOR: REAR SUNSHADE SYSTEM: Rear Sunshade Shift-linked Function does not Operate when Shift Lever is Moved to R Position
- Rear Sunshade Shift-linked Function does not Operate when Shift Lever is Moved to R Position
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
When the shift lever is moved to the R position while the ignition switch is on (IG), the ECM receives a reverse position signal from the park/neutral position switch. After receiving the signal, the ECM sends it to the network gateway ECU via CAN communication. The network gateway ECU sends the signal to the main body ECU via BEAN communication. After receiving the signal, if the rear sunshade is raised, the main body ECU turns on the rear sunshade relay to lower the rear sunshade.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Delete the DTCs Diagnosis System.
(b) Check for DTCs again.
(c) Proceed to the next step based on the inspection result.
Result:
D -- GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART Multiplex Communication System
C -- GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM) Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
B -- GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART (P0705) Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart (from 12/2010)
A -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Select the Active Test, use Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the rear shade raises and lowers.
Main Body:
OK:
Rear sunshade raises and lowers.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SUNSHADE RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. REPLACE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU
(a) Replace network gateway ECU Removal (from 12/2010).
(b) Check the rear sunshade operation Description and Operation.
Result:
NG -- REPLACE ECM
OK -- END
4. REPLACE ECM
(a) Replace ECM Removal (from 12/2010).
(b) Check the rear sunshade operation Description and Operation.
Result:
NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)
OK -- END
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SUNSHADE RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU)
(a) Disconnect the K17 rear sunshade relay connector.
(b) Disconnect the D6 main body ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance between the terminals according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) (R POSITION SIGNAL)
(a) Disconnect the K17 rear sunshade relay connector.
(b) Measure the voltage between the terminals according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)
OK -- REPLACE REAR SUNSHADE ASSEMBLY (REAR SUNSHADE RELAY) Removal (from 12/2010)
